Young People are Blue + Ready
YDA President Chris Gallaway issued the following statement on a new youth voting poll, "Today, Young Voter Strategies released a new poll that is great news for Democrats, and even better news for young Democrats. Young people are identifying as Democrats in record numbers and are ready to vote for change this November.

The Young Democrats of America is mobilizing young people all across the United States and have a concentrated peer-to-peer campaign program in targeted states including AZ, CA, GA and PA with more to be announced soon.

Young people are ready, they are blue and YDA will get them to the polls this November to vote for change, to vote for Democrats."

Political Action Day, Sept. 30th
On September 30th, YDA will launch one of several Political Action Days in order to help build a bloc of young voters for Democrats. We asked for your chapter’s ideas to make the action day successful. Some chapters will focus on issues like student loans, others will knock on other 18-35 year olds homes and others have decided to get young people to sign a pledge card to vote for Democrats this November. We will post information soon on how you can sign up for a Political Action Day. You can read more about ideas around student loans on our blog.

YDA + 2006 Elections
YDA recently hired national and state staff to build out our programs and infrastructure. The national and state teams are changing how young people are involved and engaged in partisan politics. We are building a bloc of young voters for Democrats by talking to our peers at their homes and where they hang out.

Our state chapters that have Executive Directors are Arkansas, California and Pennsylvania. Our state chapters that have Alliance Campaign Directors are Arizona, Georgia, California and Pennsylvania. Check back soon for more details on how you can volunteer or become a paid canvasser or email office@yda.org.

YDA Announces Conference in Jackson, Mississippi
YDA is proud to announce the location of our next conference will be in Jackson, Mississippi on Nov. 17-19, 2006. The Young Democrats of Mississippi will be wonderful hosts and we are excited to spend some time in the south after the elections. Read more details + register today!

YDA released findings from our peer-to-peer Alliance program in a new publication “A Gift to Democrats: How Democrats can Win Elections by Making Young People a Top Priority." Reverse the Raid on Student Aid
The new Miller-Durbin bill will cut college loan interest in half, saving most students and families $5,600. The Republicans raided student aid making college less accessible for thousands of young people. Democrats are fighting back with a bill in Congress as well as grassroots actions.
